Drecke is a village in the municipality of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

The place is in the south of the city of Wipperfürth in the valley of the Drecker Bach and one of its tributaries. Neighboring towns are Fürden , Kohlgrube , Wüstenhof and Thier .

The place belongs to the electoral district 150 and thus to the district of Thier.

history

Around 1445 the place was first mentioned in a register of heirs under the name "Dreckke" . The Topographia Ducatus Montani map from 1715 shows two courtyards and describes them as “dirt” . The topographical photograph of the Rhineland from 1825 shows four separate floor plans under the name "Dreke" in a delimited courtyard . In the Prussian first recording from 1840 the place name is again "dirt" . From the topographical map of the years 1894 to 1896, the place name in use today, Drecke, is used.

In the area of ​​the village there is a stone cross from the year 1853.
