Kleinscherkenbach is a village in the municipality of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The place is in the south of the city of Wipperfürth. A tributary of the Pasbach rises on the eastern edge of the village . Neighboring towns are Sonnenberg , Roppersthal , Großscherkenbach and Agathaberg .

Kleinscherkenbach is politically represented by the direct candidate from electoral district 14.1 (141) Agathaberg in the council of the city of Wipperfürth.

history

In 1413 the place is mentioned for the first time under the name "Scherkenbach" in accounts of the excise lifting of the Bergische Ämter. The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows a courtyard marked as "Freyhhof" at the place of Kleinscherkenbach and describes it as "Scherckenbecke" . The topographical recording of the Rhineland from 1825 shows on the enclosed courtyard under the name “Kl. Scherkenbek ” a floor plan. From the topographic map from 1894 to 1896, the place name Kleinscherkenbach, which is in use today, is used.

A sandstone crossroads in the local area dates from 1860 .
