Oberholl is a village in the municipality of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The place is located in the southeast of the city of Wipperfürth on the city limits to Lindlar and Marienheide , above the source of the Holler Siepen, which flows into the Lindlar Sülz . Neighboring towns are Niederholl , Dellweg , Schnipperingen and Schnipperinger Mühle .

The place belongs to the municipal electoral district 142 and thus to the district Dohrgaul .

history

Around 1443 the place is mentioned for the first time under the name "in the Hole" in an income and rights list of the Cologne Apostelstifts. The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows two courtyards and denotes them with “o. Holl " . The topographical recording of the Rhineland from 1825 shows in the enclosed courtyard under the name “Ob. Hoel “ three separate floor plans. In the Prussian first recording from 1840 the place name is "Obersholl" . From the topographic map of the years 1894 to 1896, the place name in common use today, Oberholl, is used.
