Schwickertzhausen is a court of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).
Location and description
Schwickertzhausen is in the north of Wipperfürth. Neighboring towns are Bruch , Ahlhausen , Güttenhausen , Birkenbaum and Egen . The Hungertaler Bach and the Kortmannssiepen flow into the Bever at the Hofschaft .
You can reach Schwickertzhausen in the Wipperfürth urban area via the K13 district road and some small roads leading through the village of Egen.
The Ahlhausen bus stop, 350 m away, provides a connection to local public transport via line 337 (VRS / OVAG).
The townscape is still characterized by two farms today. As a sideline farm, one of the two farms now exclusively produces and markets cattle for meat. On the remaining full-time farm, milk production has also been discontinued and instead completely switched to horse-keeping.
history
The place was first mentioned in a document in 1487. A resident of "Swickershuyss" is in a loan list for Duke Wilhelm III. listed.
At the beginning of the 19th century there was a saw powered by water power. The upper and lower trenches were also used to irrigate the meadows below.
Hiking trails
A circular route marked with the hiking sign A2 runs through the village. The approx. 5 km long path is signposted by the Sauerland Mountain Association and has its starting point and destination at the hiking car park in the village of Wipperfürth- Egen, 1.0 km away .
