Neuensturmberg is a village in the municipality of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).
Location and description
The place is in the east of the city of Wipperfürth in the valley of the river Wupper . In the area of the village run the waters of Neuensturmberger Siefen , Tackennester Bach and Tackennester Siefen, which flow into the Hammergraben Egerpohl . The Hammergraben, which runs to the north of Neuensturmberg, is diverted from the Wupper at Ibach and flows back into the Wupper at the level of the Niederwipper village . Neighboring towns are Niederwipper, Egerpohl , Böswipper and Altensturmberg .
Politically, Neuensturmberg is represented in the council of the city of Wipperfürth by the direct candidates from electoral district 13 (130) Ohl and Klaswipper.
history
The topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1825 shows two floor plans on a delimited courtyard southwest of Böswipper. The spelling of the place name is "Neustormberg" . In the Prussian first recording from 1840 to 1844 the place name is “Ndr. Störrenberg " . From the topographic map 1894 to 1896 ( Prussian New Admission ), the name of the place Neuensturmberg is used today.
With the expansion of the railway line via Wipperfürth to Marienheide in 1902, Neuensturmberg was located on the Wippertal Railway . Freight and passenger traffic ended with the cessation of rail operations on the Wipperfürth Ost and Marienheide section in 1985.
Hiking trails
The Wipperfürther Rundweg, signposted by SGV , leads through the village. The route of the railway line formerly leading through Egerpohl has been expanded into a cycle path. The entire route bears the name "Alleenradweg Bergisch Born - Marienheide".
