Mettberg is a court of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The court is located in the east of Wipperfürth on the city limits to Kierspe on the Mettberg of the same name. A road connection exists exclusively via the urban area of ​​Kierspe. Neighboring towns are Kerspe , Rönsahler Löh , Ufer and Rönsahl . The dam of the Kerspe dam is located 600 m northwest of the Hofschaft. In 1443 Mettberg is mentioned for the first time with the place name “Merenberck” in "Income and rights of the Cologne Apostelstift" . The topographic map ( Prussian new recording ) from 1894 to 1896 shows the court with several floor plans and names it "Metberg" . The place name in use today is used from the map from 1954.
