Böswipper is a village east of the center of Wipperfürth and belongs to the district of Ohl . The part of the settlement has 83 inhabitants (status 01/2009).

location

Böswipper is located between Egerpohl and Ibach in the Bergisches Land nature park and is divided by federal highway 237 . Other neighboring towns are Haufe in the north and Neuenensturmberg in the south . The Wipper flows from the east to the south of Böswipper towards Wipperfürth.

Böswipper consists of two parts. The geographically higher part north of the B237 is called Hof , the southern part is called the settlement . There were several farms in Hof , but they no longer exist. In the settlement the houses as opposed to have farm just house numbers.

history

In 1530, the place is described as "Zo der boissin Wypper" in a Wipperfürth church account.

The settlement was founded in 1959. At that time Böswipper still belonged to the municipality of Klüppelberg and houses 2 to 8 and 12 were already there. By 1967 nine new residential buildings were added. The last four were built in 1992–1996, so that in 2008 the estate has a total of 18 residential buildings. The house numbers were only assigned in the mid-1980s.

The newest house is the one with the number 27.

Hiking trails

Already at the beginning of the 20th century, two hiking trails led through Böswipper. A 68 km long path from Eitorf to Wipperfürth and a 49.6 km long path from Engelskirchen to the Ennepesperre . Even today, hiking trails lead directly through Böswipper. These are the circular hiking trail around Wipperfürth with a total length of 43 km and the Klaswipper A1 hiking trail with a length of 4.5 km.

economy

Böswipper is the location of several companies. The glass manufacturer Interpane , who settled here at the beginning of the 1960s on the initiative of the municipal director of Klüppelberg, a roofing company and a construction company .
