Klespe is a village in the municipality of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The place is in the south of the city of Wipperfürth in the headwaters of a backwater of the Drecker Bach . Neighboring places are Wüstenhof , Eichholz , Bommerhaus and Hermesberg .

The place belongs to the electoral district 150 and thus to the district of Thier.

history

In 1378 the place was first mentioned under the name "Clespe" . Engelbertus de Clespe is listed in the provisional church of the Wipperfürth parish church. The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows four courtyards and already designates them with the spelling "Klespe", which is used today . The topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1825 shows six separate floor plans in Klespe on a delimited courtyard.

In the area of ​​the village there was a stone wayside cross from 1860 until 1964. Today this cross is in the neighboring village of Wüstenhof. In the village there is a stone memorial cross from more recent times, which formerly served in the cemetery to remember a deceased person.
