Grund is a village in the municipality of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The village is located in the southwest of the city of Wipperfürth between the Schwarzenbach and the Wipperfelder Bach on the municipality border with Kürten . Neighboring towns are Rothe Furth , Überberg , Unterschwarzen and Buchholz .

The village belongs to electoral district 160 and thus to the district of Wipperfeld .

history

In 1487 the place was first mentioned under the name "Grund" in loan lists for Wilhelm III. called by Berg . The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows two courtyards and denotes them with "Grund" . The topographical recording of the Rhineland from 1824 shows four separate floor plans in a delimited courtyard under the name “Grund” . On the Prussian first recording from 1844 the place name is "Hof Grund" . From the topographic map from 1893 to 1896, the place name is Grund.

A sandstone court cross in the local area dates from 1933 .
