Niederröttenscheid is a village in Wipperfürth in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The village is located in the northwest of Wipperfürth on the city limits to Hückeswagen . Neighboring towns are Elberhausen , Oberröttenscheid , Klitzhaufe and Neye . The Niederröttenscheider Bach rises on the eastern edge of the village .

Politically, the place is represented by the direct candidate from electoral district 10 (100) Neye and Felderhof in the council of the city of Wipperfürth.

history

Röttenscheid was first mentioned in 1410. A certificate from the canons of St. Gereon proves that the mayor in Eckenhoven, among other things, also receives income from “Ruttenscheide” . The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows three individual farms and names them "Rüttenschüt" . In the map topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1825, under the place name “Ndr. Rotterscheid ”shows six separate building plans. From the Prussian first recording from 1840 to 1844, the name commonly used today “Nd. Röttenscheid ”is used.
