Fürden is a village in the municipality of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The place is in the southwest of the city of Wipperfürth in the valley of the Ahe stream . Neighboring places are Ahe , Langensiefen , Kohlgrube , Drecke and Thier .

The place belongs to the electoral district 150 and thus to the district of Thier.

history

The Topographia Ducatus Montani map from 1715 shows a farm that is marked as "Freyhof" and names it "Fuhrt" . The topographical photograph of the Rhineland from 1825 shows four separate floor plans in a delimited courtyard under the name “Fords” . In the Prussian first recording from 1840 the place name is "Fürde" . From the topographical map of the years 1894 to 1896, the place name Fürden is used today.

Outside the village, on the way towards Thier, there is a stone crossroads from 1850.
