Wüstenhof is a village in the municipality of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The place is in the south of the city of Wipperfürth in the valley of a backwater of the Drecker Bach . Wüstenhof consists of three spatially separated settlement areas. Neighboring places are Fürden , Drecke , Klespe , Bergesbirken and Thier .

The place belongs to the electoral district 150 and thus to the district of Thier.

history

In 1548 the place is mentioned for the first time under the name "Woestenhoev" in the lists of the Bergisch tension and barge services . The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows a courtyard and describes it as "Wüstenhof" . The topographical recording of the Rhineland from 1825 shows four separate floor plans in the valley of the brook on a delimited courtyard under the name "Wüstenhof" . In the Prussian first recording from 1840 the place name is "Wöstenhof" . From the topographical map of the years 1894 to 1896, the place name in common use today, Wüstenhof, is used and the southern local area is recorded. From the topographic map from 1969, the northern settlement area is also listed.

A stone wayside cross from 1860 has stood in the area of ​​the village since 1964. Before that, the cross was in the neighboring village of Klespe.
