Poshof is a village in the municipality of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).
Location and description
The place is in the south of the city of Wipperfürth. In the east of Poshof, two tributaries of the Pasbach arise , which flows into the Gaulbach . Neighboring towns are Wegerhof , Sassenbach , Kleinscherkenbach and Roppersthal .
Politically, Poshof is represented in the council of the city of Wipperfürth by the direct candidate from electoral district 7.2 (072) south-eastern urban area.
history
Around 1449 the place is mentioned for the first time under the name "Paeßhoeve" in a list of citizen estates belonging to Wipperfürth. The Topographia Ducatus Montani map from 1715 shows three farms and names them “Booshof” . The topographical photograph of the Rhineland from 1825 shows two separate floor plans on a delimited courtyard under the name “Boshof” . In the Prussian first recording from 1840 to 1844 the spelling “Passhof” is used . From the topographic map from 1894 to 1896, the place name Poshof is used today.
A stone wayside cross in the local area dates from 1870 .
