Neumühle is a village in the municipality of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The place is located in the southwest of the city of Wipperfürth in the valley of the Große Dhünn on the border with the city of Wermelskirchen . In the south-eastern outskirts of the village the Mausbach flows into the Große Dhünn. Neighboring towns are Lieth , as well as Altenhof and Niederhagen , which are part of Wermelskirchen .

The place belongs to the municipal electoral district 160 and thus to the electoral district Wipperfeld .

history

The Topographia Ducatus Montani map from 1715 shows the village under the name "Neuemühl" with a courtyard and a mill symbol. The topographical recording of the Rhineland from 1824 shows four separate floor plans in a delimited courtyard under the name “New Mill” . One of the buildings is marked as a stone house. From the topographic maps from 1893 to 1896 the place name is Neumühle. The mill is described as a grain mill. The mill building, the water of the upper ditch flowing over the Gefluder and an iron water wheel with a diameter of four meters were still there in 1998.
