Berge is a court of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

Berge is located in the north of Wipperfürth on the city limits to Radevormwald . Neighboring towns are Radevormwald- Oberbuschsiepen , Ahlhausen , Kotten and Schwickertzhausen . The Steinberger Bach rises in the south of the village and flows into the Moorbach near Kotten .

In the northeast, on the road in the direction of Oberbuschsiepen, the area reaches a height of 384 m and is shown on topographic maps as a vantage point.

Politically, the place is represented by the direct candidate from electoral district 17.2 (172) Egen in the council of the city of Wipperfürth.

history

The place was first mentioned in documents in 1361. The parish archive of the parish of St. Nikolaus in Wipperfürth names several donors of the St. Mary's altar in the parish church. “Tilmannus de Monte” (de Monte = from the mountain) was one of them.

In 1715 the Topographia Ducatus Montani shows two courtyards and names them "mountain". From the topographic map ( Prussian New Admission ) from 1894 to 1896, the place name is "Mountains".
