Neuenhaus is a court of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The farm is located in the east of Wipperfürth in the valley of the Hönnige stream . Neighboring towns are Hönnige , Biesenbach , Wasserfuhr , Dievesherweg and Leuchtenbirken . The Neuenhauser Siefen (Hönnige) rises near the village.

Politically, the place is represented by the direct candidate of the constituency 12.1 (121) Kupferberg in the council of the city of Wipperfürth.

history

Around 1470 the place is mentioned for the first time under the name "Newenhuys" in a list of goods of the office Steinbach . On the Topographia Ducatus Montani map from 1715, “Neuenhus” consists of a courtyard. The map topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1825 shows under the place name “a. new house ” on a delimited courtyard, two separate building plans. From the Prussian first recording from 1840 to 1844, the court was called Neuenhaus.

From 1910 to 1960 the railway line fromschlag to Wipperfürth passed north of the Hofschaft. This railway line branched off from the Wippertalbahn at Wipperfürth station and connected to the Wuppertalbahn when it stopped .
