Location of the church in Wipperfürth

Church is a residential area in Wipperfürth in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

Church is located southeast of Wipperfeld near the mouth of the Bennenbach in the Wipperfelder Bach . Today it essentially consists of a courtyard .

history

The  Topographia Ducatus Montani  by  Erich Philipp Ploennies  shows that the church (   called churches there and classified as  common courtyards  ) belonged to the  Bergisches  Amt Steinbach  . Carl Friedrich von Wiebeking names the court on his charter of the Duchy of Berg in 1789 as churches . It shows that the church was part of the black community in the parish of Wipperfeld at that time .

Under the French administration between 1806 and 1813, the Steinbach office was dissolved and the church was politically assigned to Mairie Olpe in the canton of Wipperfürth . In 1816 the Prussians converted the Mairie to the Olpe mayor in the Wipperfürth district . Later the church belonged to the community of Klüppelberg . In the course of the Cologne Act , the municipality of Klüppelberg was dissolved and essential parts, including the church, became part of the expanded city of Wipperfürth.

The place is recorded on the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 as a church and on the Prussian first survey of 1840 as a church . From the Prussian new admission in 1892, it is regularly listed as a church on measuring table sheets .
