Langensiefen is a village in the municipality of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).
Location and description
The place is located in the southwest of the city of Wipperfürth. Two tributaries of the Ahe arise in the area of the village . Neighboring towns are Hof , Oberschwarzen , Hinterschoeneberg, Vorderschoeneberg and Kohlgrube .
The place belongs to the electoral district 150 and thus to the district of Thier.
history
Around 1491 the place was first mentioned under the name "Langensyffen" in the church accounts of the Catholic parish of St. Nikolaus Wipperfürth. The Topographia Ducatus Montani map from 1715 shows a single farm and describes it as "Langensiepen" . The topographical recording of the Rhineland from 1825 shows six separate floor plans in a delimited courtyard under the name "Langensiefen" . In the Prussian first recording from 1840 the place name is again "Langensiepen" . From the topographical map of the years 1894 to 1896, the place name Langensiefen is used today.
