Berghof is a village of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The village is located in the north of Wipperfürth, 860 m from the Neyetalsperre on the 318.8 m high Kreuzberg. Neighboring towns are Wipperfürth, Ommer , Sonnenschein , Großblumberg , Hasselbick and Vosskuhle . The Berghofer Bach flows into the Wupper in the west of the village .

Politically, the place is represented by the direct candidates of the electoral district 02 (020) Sanderhöhe and Wolfsiepen in the council of the city of Wipperfürth.

history

In 1487 the place is listed for the first time under the name "Berghoeve" in a loan list for Duke Wilhelm III von Berg . On the Topographia Ducatus Montani map from 1715, “Bergerhof” consists of two farms. The map topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1825 already names the court with the name "Berghof", which is still used today, and shows nine separate floor plans in the enclosed courtyard.
