Wüstemünte is a village in the municipality of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The place is in the west of the city of Wipperfürth. A tributary of the Mosser Bach rises in the southeast of the village . Neighboring places are Bochen , Kleppersfeld , Finkelnburg and Ritzenhaufe .

Politically, Wüstemünte is represented by the direct candidate of the electoral district 17.1 (171) Hammern in the council of the city of Wipperfürth.

history

Around 1538 the place is mentioned for the first time under the name "Woyster muynten" and "to Wüstmünden" in a register of heirs of the Catholic Church in Wipperfürth. The topographical photograph of the Rhineland from 1825 shows seven separate floor plans on a delimited courtyard under the name “Wustemunde” . In the Prussian first recording from 1840 the place name is "Wöstenmönte" . From the official topographical map ( Prussian new recording ) from 1894 to 1896, the place name Wüstemünte is used.
