The place is located in the southwest of the city of Wipperfürth in the valley of the Mausbach, which flows into the Great Dhünn . Neighboring places are Wüstenhof near Wipperfeld , Obermausbach , Erlen , Oberschneppen and Boxberg .

history

In 1443 the place is mentioned for the first time under the name "Musbecke" in an income and rights list of the Cologne Apostelstifts. The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows the place with the place name "Musbach" and two courtyards. The topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 names the place “Nied. Mausbach " . The map shows five separate floor plans in the enclosed courtyard. From the Prussian first recording in 1844 the place name Untermausbach is used.
