From 1910 to 1960 the railway line fromschlag to Wipperfürth passed the town. This railway line branched off from the Wippertalbahn at Wipperfürth station and connected to the Wuppertalbahn when it stopped . The station, named after the village, was 900 meters to the southwest, at the level of the village of Biesenbach. An industrial company settled on the former railway site.

A small chapel has stood in a private garden area since 1994. It is consecrated to the “merciful Jesus” and is open to interested visitors for prayer.
