Schnipperingen is a village in the municipality of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The place is located in the southeast of the city of Wipperfürth on the city limits to Marienheide . A right tributary of the Lindlar Sülz rises on the southern edge of the village . Neighboring towns are Oberholl , Obergaul , Eiringhausen and Schnipperinger Mühle .

The place belongs to the municipal electoral district 142 and thus to the district Dohrgaul .

history

Around 1443 the place is mentioned for the first time under the name "Snypperinghen" in an income and rights list of the Cologne Apostle monastery. The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows three farms and names them with "Schnipering" . The topographical recording of the Rhineland from 1825 shows in the enclosed courtyard under the name “Ob. Hoel “ four separate floor plans. In the Prussian first recording from 1840 the place name is "Schniperingsen" . From the topographic map of the years 1894 to 1896, the place name Schnipperingen, which is in use today, is used.
