Unterdierdorf is a village in the municipality of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The place is located in the south of the city of Wipperfürth in a side valley of the Dierdorfer Siefen . Neighboring towns are Fähnrichstüttem , Agathaberg , Oberdierdorf and Neeskotten .

The place belongs to the municipal electoral district 142 and thus to the district Dohrgaul .

history

Around 1451 the place was first mentioned under the name "Dyrdorp" , namely "Heydenvico in Dyrdorp is one of the witnesses to the homage to the citizens on the Wipperfürth market square". The Topographia Ducatus Montani map from 1715 shows two separate settlement areas with the uniform designation "Dierdorf" . The map shows three farms in the Unterdierdorf area, and a single farm marked as Freyhof in the Oberdierdorf area. From the topographical map of Prussian first recording from 1840, the place name in common use today, Unterdierdorf, is used. Dierdorf was the titular place of the honor of the same name Dierdorf .
