Altensturmberg is a small town in Wipperfürth in the Oberbergischer Kreis in southern North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ) within the administrative district of Cologne .

Location and description

Altensturmberg is located in the easternmost urban area of Wipperfürth on an approximately 360 m high ridge between the Wipper and Gault valleys. The small settlement is at the end of a cul-de-sac that flows into a wooded area when coming from Küppersherweg . Altensturmberg consists of one to two family houses and several farms. Altensturmberg belonged to the municipality of Klüppelberg from 1880 to 1975 and was mentioned as "Storrenberg" in a tithing list of the parish church of St. Nikolaus Wipperfürth as early as 1625. In the description of the hunting boundaries between the citizens of Wipperfürth and the Barons von Nagel, the so-called Storrenberger Wiesenteich is mentioned as early as 1662. Before 1860, the place always belonged to the citizenship of Wipperfürth, Poshofer Rotte. The place had 27 inhabitants in 1810.
