The federal highway 506 leading through the village was an important military route between Cologne and Soest in the Middle Ages . Around 1220, when the city of Wipperfürth was founded, the path was probably already used. In 1443 the place is mentioned for the first time under the name "Lammesvoyt" in an income and rights list of the Cologne Apostelstift. The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows four farms and names them "Lamsfus" . The topographical recording of the Rhineland from 1825 shows ten separate floor plans in a delimited courtyard under the name "Lamst." A single floor plan is marked as a stone house. From the Prussian first recording of 1840 the place name "Lamsfuss." Is used.

There are three crossroads in the local area. Two sandstone crosses date from 1766 and 1866. The wooden cross is dated to the 19th century.
