Arnsberg is a village in the district of Hämmern in the town of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ). In addition to this Arnsberg, in Wipperfürth there is also the village of the same name Arnsberg in the Wipperfeld district .

Location and description

Arnsberg is located about 1.5 km west of Hammern and about 4.5 km west-northwest of the city center of Wipperfürth at an altitude of 327  m above sea level. NN . Neighboring towns are Elbertzhagen , Jostberg , Isenburg and the Hückeswagen town of Vogelsholl .

Politically, the place is represented by the direct candidate of the electoral district 17.1 (171) Hammern in the council of the city of Wipperfürth.

history

In 1484 the place is mentioned for the first time under the name "Arnsberg" in Hückeswagen church accounts of that time. The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows a farm and names it "Ansberg" . The topographical photograph of the Rhineland from 1824 shows two separate floor plans on a delimited courtyard area and names them “Arnsberg”. In the Prussian first photograph from 1844, the place is called “Arensberg” . From the topographical map from 1893 to 1895 the place name Arnsberg is used.
