Halkenberg is a small court of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The Hofschaft is located in the northeast of Wipperfürth on the city limits of Halver . Neighboring places are Auf dem Wiebusch , Hohl , Kreuzberg and Ritterlöh . The Halkenberger Bach brook, which flows into the Neye, rises on the western edge of the village .

Politically, the place is represented by the direct candidate of electoral district 11 (110) Kreuzberg in the council of the city of Wipperfürth.

history

In 1548 the Halkenberg is mentioned for the first time under the name "Halkenberch" in the lists of the Bergische Spann- and Schüppendienste. The place name "Halkenberg" is used from the topographical survey of the Rhineland map from 1825 .
