history

The Wiebusch was first mentioned in a document in 1480, but the time of origin of the settlement is assumed to be between 1300 and 1400 following the second medieval clearing period. On the Wiebusch there is a split from Wiebusch-Hedfeld or from Niederhedfeld .

An old road from Cologne via Wipperfürth , Halver, Lüdenscheid , Werdohl and Arnsberg to Soest ran south of Auf dem Wiebusch on the route of today's district road , an important early medieval (according to other views already prehistoric ) trade , pilgrimage and military route .

In 1818 five residents lived in the village. According to the location and distance table of the government district of Arnsberg , the place was categorized as arable land and in 1838 had a population of ten, including one Catholic and nine Protestant. At that time the place belonged to the Lausberg farmers within the mayor's office of Halver and owned a house and an agricultural building.
