Stöcken is a court in Halver in the Märkisches Kreis in the administrative district of Arnsberg in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

Stöcken is 395 meters above sea level on a hill above the Neye (II) in southwest Halver on the city limits of Wipperfürth . The place can be reached via a driveway that branches off from the district road K13 between Hohenplanken and Hückeswagen . Other neighboring towns are Auf der Eicken , Kotten , Eickerschmitte and Vossebrechen (to Wipperfürth).

history

Stöcken was first mentioned in a document in 1705 and was probably built between 1650 and 1700 as a split from Auf der Bever or von Kotten.

In 1818 nine residents lived in the village. In 1838, Stöcken belonged to the Eickhöfer peasantry within the Halver mayor's office . The place, which was categorized as a courtyard according to the location and distance table of the government district of Arnsberg , had two residential buildings, a factory or mill and an agricultural building at that time. At that time, 14 residents lived in the village, all of whom were Protestant.

The community encyclopedia for the province of Westphalia from 1887 gives a number of 26 residents who lived in four houses.
