In den Eicken is a district of Halver in the Märkisches Kreis in the administrative district of Arnsberg in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

In den Eicken lies in western Halver on the city limits to Radevormwald and Wipperfürth . Neighboring towns are the immediately adjacent Auf der Bever , In den Kuhlen , Büchenbaum , Hohenplanken and Schwenke , as well as the Radevormwald towns of Obergraben and Untergraben and the Wipperfürth towns of Schwelmersiepen and Kahlenberg . The place can be reached via a side road from Schwenke, which leads to Radevormwald villages.

The Bever , a tributary of the Wupper , which is dammed in the Bevertalsperre, rises in a spring pond south of In den Eicken . Modern single-family houses predominate in the place.

history

In the Eicken was first mentioned in 1733, the time of origin of the settlement is probably after 1636. In the Eicken there is a split from Auf der Bever.

In 1818 four residents lived in the village. In 1838 In den Eicken belonged to the Eickhöfer peasantry within the Halver mayor . The place categorized as Kotten according to the place and distance table of the government district Arnsberg had a house at that time. At that time ten residents lived in the place, all of them Protestant faith.
