history

Schulten Hedfeld was first mentioned in a document in 1160, but the time of origin of the settlement is assumed to be between 693 and 750 during the time of the second Saxon conquest. Thus Schmidthausen is one of the early settlements in Halver.

In 1818 36 people lived in the village. In 1838 Schulten Hedfeld belonged as Schulten-Hedfeld to the Bommerter peasantry within the mayor's office of Halver . The place, which was categorized as a courtyard according to the location and distance table of the government district of Arnsberg , had seven residential buildings and seven agricultural buildings at that time. At that time, 46 people lived in the village, all of whom were Protestant.

The municipality encyclopedia for the province of Westphalia from 1887 gives a number for Schultenhedfeld of 36 inhabitants who lived in eight houses.

Since the early Middle Ages (according to other sources, since prehistoric times), an important old road led past Schulten Hedfeld , the trade , pilgrimage and military route from Hagen via Breckerfeld , Halver and Rönsahl to Siegen .
