Kamscheid is a hamlet in Halver in the Märkisches Kreis in the North Rhine-Westphalian administrative district of Arnsberg in Germany .

Location and description

Kamscheid is 370 meters above sea ​​level in the north-west of Halver, near the city ​​boundary to Breckerfeld formed by the Bosseler Bach . The Sparenbach flows past the site, a tributary of the Ennepe pre-dam of the Ennepe dam .

Kamscheid can only be reached by road vehicles via a spur road that branches off from a side road of the L528 state road between Niedervahlefeld and Kreisch and which also connects Dörnen . Other neighboring towns are Oberbuschhausen and Osenberg .

history

Kamscheid was first mentioned in a document in 900, but the time of origin of the settlement is assumed to be between 630 and 700 in the time of the second Saxon conquest. Thus, Kamscheid is one of the earlier settlements in Halver.

In 1818 there were 36 people living in Kamscheid. According to the location and distance table of the government district of Arnsberg , the place was categorized as a farm and in 1838 had a population of 47, all of whom were Protestant. At that time, the place was the titular place of the Kamscheider peasantry within the mayor's office of Halver and had nine residential buildings, two factories or mills and nine agricultural buildings.

The community encyclopedia for the province of Westphalia from 1887 gives a number of 69 inhabitants for Kamscheid who lived in eleven houses.
