Nordeln is a court in Halver in the Märkisches Kreis in the administrative district of Arnsberg in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The place can be reached via a road that branches off the federal road 229 at Niederennepe and connects the villages in the Ennepetal. The Rehbrauckbach , which rises near Neuenvahlefeld, flows into the Ennepe near Nordeln . East of the location is a 385.3 meters above sea level high elevation.

history

Nordeln was first mentioned in a document in 1410, but the time of origin of the settlement is presumed to be between 1050 and 1200 as a result of the clearing phase after the high medieval territorial formation. Nordeln is a split from the Stieneichhofen estate .

In 1818 eight residents lived in the village. In 1838 Nordeln belonged to the Eickhöfer peasantry within the Halver mayor . According to the location and distance table of the government district of Arnsberg , the place called Kotten had a house and a factory or mill at that time. At that time, six people lived in the village, all of whom were Protestant.

The community encyclopedia for the province of Westphalia from 1887 gives a number of seven residents who lived in a residential building.

At the latest since the early Middle Ages (according to other information since prehistoric times) an important old road from Wipperfürth to Breckerfeld crossed the Ennepe near Nordeln . To the west of the village there is a ring wall on the Bollberg , which, according to excavations (ceramic finds from the 9th century) and recent research, is interpreted as a Franconian extension and refuge castle to secure this old road.
