Becke is a court in Halver in the Märkisches Kreis in the administrative district of Arnsberg in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

Becke is located northwest of the main town in Halver at 355 above sea ​​level on the Rehbrauckbach , a tributary of the Ennepe . The place can be reached via secondary roads that branch off from state road 528 and connect other villages in the area. Neighboring places are Kreisch , Obervahlefeld , Brenscheid , Lingensiepen , Edelkirchen and Nordeln with the Nordeler Schleifkotten .

Becke was first mentioned in a document in 1645, the time of origin of the settlement is probably only a little earlier and is dated to 1600. Becke was a Vorwerk of the Obervahlefeld court.

In 1818 nine residents lived in Becke. According to the location and distance table of the government district of Arnsberg , the place was categorized as Kotten and in 1838 had a population of six, all of whom were Protestant. At that time, the place belonged to the Kamscheider peasantry within the mayor's office of Halver and owned a house, a factory or mill and an agricultural building.
