Location and description

The Nordeler Schleifkotten is located at 320 meters above sea level in the northwest of the Halveran urban area in the valley of the Ennepe at the mouth of the Rehbrauckbach, which rises near Neuenvahlefeld . The neighboring towns are Burbach , Ober- and Niederbuschhausen , Buschhauser Hammer , Ahe , Hartmecke , Grafweg , Diekerhof , Stieneichhofen , Becke , Brenscheid , Beisen and the immediately adjacent Nordeln .

The place can be reached via a road that branches off the federal road 229 at Niederennepe and connects the villages in the Ennepetal. To the east of the village is a 385.3 meters above sea level elevation, to the west is the Bollberg .

history

The Nordeler Schleifkotten was first mentioned in a document in 1857 as a split from Nordeln. Nordeln is a split from the Stieneichhofen estate . In the first half of the 20th century, the grinding bowl was put out of action.

At the latest since the early Middle Ages (according to other information since prehistoric times) an important old road from Wipperfürth to Breckerfeld crossed the Ennepe at Nordeler Schleifkotten . To the west of the village there is a ring wall on the Bollberg , which, according to excavations (ceramic finds from the 9th century) and recent research, is interpreted as a Franconian extension and refuge castle to secure this old road.
