Kückelhausen is a court in Halver in the Märkisches Kreis in the administrative district of Arnsberg in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

Kückelhausen is 400 meters above sea level south of the main town in Halver on the watershed between the river systems of the Ennepe and the Wupper . The place is on the county road K3 between the nearby stop and Kierspe , which branches off the state road L284 at the place . Other neighboring towns are Sondern , Auf der Brake , Schlade and Wöste . A tributary of the Hönnige rises south of the village and the Kückelhauser Berg rises.

history

Kückelhausen was first mentioned in a document in 1125/38, but the time of origin of the settlement is assumed to be between 600 and 750 in the time of the second Saxon conquest. Thus, Kückelhausen is one of the early settlements in Halver.

Around 1500 it is documented by documents that the Kückelhausen farm was subject to tax in the Bergisch Amt Beyenburg . The jurisdiction of the court was subordinate to a Bergisch judge specially appointed for the Bergische Höfe in the otherwise Brandenburg- dominated parish of Halver, which often led to a dispute with the Brandenburg count actually responsible for the parish .

In 1818 19 residents lived in the village. In 1838 Kückelhausen belonged to the Bommerter peasantry within the mayor's office of Halver . The place, which was categorized as a courtyard according to the location and distance table of the government district of Arnsberg , had two residential buildings and four agricultural buildings at that time. At that time 14 residents lived in the place, one Catholic and 13 Protestant faith.

The municipality encyclopedia for the province of Westphalia from 1887 gives a number of 18 inhabitants who lived in two houses.

An old road from Schwelm via Radevormwald to Wegerhof , which was used as an iron and coal road, ran past Kückelhausen on the route of today's state road L284 . For this reason, east of Kückelhausen in the Bommert forest area, bundles of ravines and land weirs blocking the way can be found .
