history

Heesfelder Mühle in Halvertal
Franz Nölken : Hälvertal with the Heesfeld School at the Heesfelder Mühle (1912)

The Heesfelder Mühle was first mentioned in a document in 1465, but it is believed that the mill was built between 1300 and 1400 in the wake of the second medieval clearing period. The Heesfeld mill was a split off from Heesfeld.

After being used as a grain mill , the mills were used as an oil press ( oil mill ) from 1700 and as a bone mill from 1850 .

In 1782 the approximately six by seven meter large village school with a classroom was built at the mill . A goat barn, a kitchen-cum-living room on the first floor and a bedroom in the attic were used for supply and accommodation for the teacher. Towards the end of the 19th century, parts of the school building were used as a small forge.

In 1818 eight residents lived in the village. In 1838, Heesfelder Mühle belonged to the Oeckinghauser peasantry within the Halver mayor's office as Heesfeldermühle . The place categorized as Malmühle am Hälverbach according to the locality and distance table of the government district of Arnsberg had two houses, two factories or mills and two agricultural buildings at that time. At that time, 13 residents lived in the village, all of whom were Protestant.

The community encyclopedia for the province of Westphalia from 1887 gives a number of 31 residents who lived in two houses.
