Dörnen is a court in Halver in the Märkisches Kreis in the administrative district of Arnsberg in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

Dörnen is located at 375 meters above sea ​​level in the north-west of Halver on a ridge near the city ​​boundary to Breckerfeld formed by the Bosseler Bach . A tributary of the Ennepetalsperre rises in the village , which flows further west together with the Bosseler Bach in a fore basin of the dam.

Road vehicles can only reach Dörnen via a spur road from neighboring Kamscheid . Other neighboring towns are Niedervahlefeld , Oberbuschhausen , Halver , Frettlöh (to Breckerfeld) and Boßel (to Breckerfeld).

There is a wind turbine east of Dörnen .

history

Dörnen was first mentioned in a document in 1519, but the time of origin of the settlement is assumed to be between 1200 and 1300 at the end of the medieval clearing period. Dörnen was a split from Kamscheid.
