Weißenpferd is a district of Halver in the Märkisches Kreis in the administrative district of Arnsberg in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

Weißenpferd is located at 400 meters above sea level north of the main town in Halver in an industrial area. The neighboring towns are the main town of Halver and the suburbs of Oege , Schmalenbach , Schwarzenbach , Kirchlöh , Eichholz and Oberhürxtal .

The place can be reached via side roads from the federal road 229 , the state road 528 or the main town, which also connect Löhbach. The Löhbach , a tributary of the Ennepe, has its source near Weißenpferd . Weißenpferd can no longer be perceived as an independent settlement area, as it is completely enclosed by the industrial area between Oege and the main town. Weißenpferd lies on an old route of the state road 528, which has been replaced by a bypass.

history

Weißenpferd was first mentioned in a document in 1542, the date of origin of today's settlement is presumed to be in the first half of the 15th century as a result of the late medieval expansion period. Weißenpferd is a split from Haus Heide .

In 1818 there were 16 people living in the village. In 1838, Weißenpferd belonged to the Halver village farmers within the Halver mayor . According to the locality and distance table of the Arnsberg government district , the place called Hof had two houses, a factory or mill and an agricultural building at that time. At that time 19 residents lived in the village, one of them Catholic and 18 Protestant.

The community encyclopedia for the province of Westphalia from 1887 gives a number of 75 inhabitants who lived in four houses.

An old road from Halver via Wipperfürth , Halver, Kierspe to Meinerzhagen ran past Weißenpferd on the route of the old state road 528 , the Hileweg , an important early medieval (according to other views already early historical ) trade , pilgrimage and military route .
