Oesterberg is an elevation and a district of Halver in the Märkisches Kreis in the administrative district of Arnsberg in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).
Location and description
Oesterberg lies at 420 meters above sea level south of the main town and borders on its central locations. In addition to the main town, neighboring towns are the suburbs of Howarde , Neuenherweg , Im Heede , Kreuzweg , Ober- and Niederbolsenbach . Two source tributaries of the Bolsenbach enclose the elevation and the district. The route of the disused Wuppertal Railway, which has been converted into a cycling and hiking trail , runs along the northern edge . On the Oesterberg there is a sports field and a long gun shooting range. The Halveraner Festplatz and the Karlshöhe observation tower are located east of the district.

Oesterberg is a young district of Halver and was only built towards the end of the 20th century as a pure residential area on the heights of the Oesterberg, without a previous settlement.
