Halverscheid is a district of Halver in the Märkisches Kreis in the Sauerland . The place has about 110 inhabitants.

history
The place is probably a Saxon foundation from the 7th century . The first documentary mention was made in the Werdener land registers around 900 AD.
In 1818, 70 people lived in the village. In 1838 Halverscheid belonged to the Oeckinghauser peasantry within the Halver mayor . The place categorized as a village according to the place and distance table of the government district Arnsberg had 20 houses, three factories or mills and 15 agricultural buildings at that time. At that time, 140 people lived in the village, all of whom were Protestant.
The municipality encyclopedia for the province of Westphalia from 1887 gives a number of 164 inhabitants who lived in 27 houses.
