Niederhövel is a court in Halver in the Märkisches Kreis in the administrative district of Arnsberg in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

Niederhövel is located at 390 meters above sea ​​level west of the main town in Halver above the Bolsenbach . In addition to the main town, neighboring towns are Hesseln , Gesenberg , Hefendehl , Oberhövel and Altemühle . The place can be reached via secondary roads that connect the main town with the Eickerhöhe district.

Niederhövel consists of two living spaces, the smaller of which is directly on the Bolsenbach at 375 meters above sea level.

history

Niederhövel was first mentioned in a document in 1630, but the time of origin of the settlement is assumed to be between 1300 and 1400 following the second medieval clearing period. Niederhövel was a split from the Oberhövel farm.

In 1818 28 people lived in the village. According to the location and distance table of the government district of Arnsberg , Niederhövel was categorized as a farm under the name Niedern Hövel and in 1838 had a population of 27, all of whom were Protestant. The place belonged to the Lausberger peasantry within the mayor's office Halver and had three houses and a factory or mill.
