Hesseln is a district of the city of Halle (Westphalia) in the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Gütersloh . The predominantly rural area is in the west of Halle. It is named after the river Hessel , which flows through the place a few kilometers after the source.
history
Hesseln was incorporated into the new city of Halle (Westphalia) from the Halle office on January 1, 1973 as part of the implementation of the “Law for the reorganization of the municipalities and districts of the reorganization area Bielefeld ( Bielefeld Law )” of October 24, 1972 .

Hesseln has a stop on the Osnabrück – Bielefeld railway line , the so-called “Haller Willem”, and has a share in the Ravensberg - Barenberg nature reserve .
