history
The cantons established during the French period (1806–1813) were replaced by the Landgemeindeordnung for the Province of Westphalia in 1841 with effect from 1843 by offices, including the Halle office . These were the second lowest administrative instance and were initially appointed by the government through official men later out of office mayors. After the Second World War, the heads of the offices were called Amtsdirektoren.
In 1928 the Patthorst manor district was incorporated into Brockhagen. On October 1, 1938, the community of Oldendorf b. Halle incorporated into the city of Halle. On October 1, 1956, part of the Gartnisch community followed. In 1969 the communities Eggeberg, Ascheloh and Gartnisch were incorporated into Halle. By the Bielefeld law , the office was dissolved on January 1, 1973 and divided between the city of Halle (Westphalia) and the municipality of Steinhagen .
The former office building was inaugurated on August 8, 1910. While the offices were on the ground floor, the upper floor was occupied by the bailiff. The building is now used by the city as City Hall II .
