Location of Bruch in Halver

Bruch is a district of Halver in the Märkisches Kreis in the North Rhine-Westphalian administrative district of Arnsberg in Germany .

Location and description

Bruch is located 300 meters above sea level northeast of the main town on state road 868, which branches off from federal road 229 in nearby Oeckinghausen . Other neighboring towns are Mesenhohl , Bocherplatz , Bochen , Ober- and Mittelcarthausen , Carthausen , Lömmelscheid , Clev , Heesfeld and the Heesfelder Mühle and the Heesfelder Hammer . The Bräumke , a tributary of the Hälver , flows through the place. To the northeast rises the 350  m above sea level. NHN high Susanne height .

In the triangle spanned by Clev, Bruch and Oeckinghausen there is a larger industrial area that takes up the entire area. Business is also located in Bruch itself.

In the place there was a quarry , which was probably the namesake. In the “ Schule an der Susannenhöhe ” in Bruch, a special school with a focus on learning, children with learning difficulties are taught.

Industrial park on the Susannenhöhe

Another industrial area is also to be built on the Susannenhöhe with an area of 120,000 square meters. In Oeckinghausen and the adjoining Bruch, the new industrial area with seven plots is to be built on a field below the Susannenhöhe. The city wants to use it to meet the needs of local companies. It is assumed that around 90 jobs could be created in the new industrial park. However, some of them are supposed to be existing jobs that would only be relocated from Halver. The Susannenhöhe industrial park is therefore also seen as an important factor in securing the Halver business location. In January 2013, three building inquiries for the new industrial park near the city of Halver are said to have been received. So far, however, there have been both directly and indirectly affected people who are rather skeptical of the plans for the new industrial park.

The first company that wants to settle on the site is a Lüdenscheid company that has so far been located on Wiesenstrasse in the Kluse district of Lüdenscheid . The structural changes to modernize and expand the company could no longer be carried out at the old location on Wiesenstrasse. Therefore, the company will relocate administration, plastics production and assembly to Halver in the year of its 110th anniversary. Metal production should remain in Lüdenscheid for the time being, as there is still a relatively new factory hall there. However, if new machines are required, the metal production will also move to Susannenhöhe. There is enough space for this on the new 27,000 square meter site on Susannenhöhe. The number of 50 to 55 jobs (together with metal production) should probably increase even further at the new location on the Susannenhöhe. According to the city of Halver, not only larger companies but also small-scale interested parties should be able to settle on the new site on the Susannenhöhe.

Where the city of Halver is currently planning to set up a new industrial area on the Susannenhöhe, work is already underway in an archaeological sense. An excavator tore three trenches, each four by 100 meters long, in the ground. The arable land to be cultivated is therefore located in a so-called reading finder , i.e. in an area in which historically valuable pieces have often been collected in the past and then handed over to the Regional Association of Westphalia-Lippe (LWL) . Before heavy equipment rolled into preparation for the industrial area, the city of Halver was obliged to have the area checked for further finds. There are clear signs of iron smelting in the area . Pottery and cinder residue were found there. And in such quantities that the LWL had already initiated what is known as prospecting , i.e. the exploration and recording of the archaeologically interesting area. The inspection that has been carried out since Wednesday, February 20, 2013, should now once again provide security that valuable finds are not accidentally destroyed during the construction work. A total of 31 sites were listed in Halver. For a mountainous region this is quite a lot of sites. By the end of the excavations on the evening of February 22, 2013, the search only uncovered one find, of which it could not be clearly established on site whether it was man-made or of natural origin. The final decision on whether the industrial park will stay on schedule is now made by the regional association. If the LWL does not initiate further excavations, the urban project can continue unabated. The development after the council decision of the city of Halver and the last required permits should then start as soon as possible. The time delay for the city of Halver could amount to about three months for further excavations. The industrial park should still be built as planned afterwards.

history

Bruch only became an independent settlement in the 19th century, before it was part of Oeckinghausen. The place was on the route of the Hälvertalbahn .

In 1818 nine residents lived in the village. In 1838 Bruch belonged to the Oeckinghauser peasantry within the Halver mayor . The place, which was categorized as a courtyard according to the location and distance table of the government district of Arnsberg , had three houses, a factory or mill and two agricultural buildings at that time. At that time, 18 residents lived in the village, all of whom were Protestant.

The community encyclopedia for the province of Westphalia from 1887 gives a number of 21 residents who lived in two houses.
