Bochen is a court of Halver in the Märkisches Kreis in the North Rhine-Westphalian administrative district of Arnsberg in Germany .

Location and description

Bochen is 300  m above sea level. NHN in the northeastern Halver in the Valley of Hälver . The place can be reached via a driveway from the federal road 229 near Heesfeld . Other neighboring towns are Oeckinghausen , Bruch , Mesenhohl , Lingen , Bocherplatz , Neuenhaus and Husen .

The route of the Hälvertalbahn , which has been converted into a cycle and hiking trail , runs past Bochen . The half-timbered house in Bochen, built around 1600, is protected as a cultural monument .

history

Bochen was first mentioned in a document in 1500, but the time of origin of the settlement is assumed to be between 1300 and 1400 following the second medieval clearing period. Bochen was part of Heesfeld.

In 1818 nine residents lived in the village. In 1838 Bochen belonged to the Oeckinghauser peasantry within the Halver mayor . The place categorized as arable land according to the place and distance table of the government district Arnsberg had a house and a factory or mill at that time. At that time 19 residents lived in the place, all of them Protestant faith.

The municipality encyclopedia for the province of Westphalia from 1887 gives a number of 14 residents who lived in a residential building.
