Location of Diekerhof in Halver

Diekerhof is a court in Halver in the Märkisches Kreis in the administrative district of Arnsberg in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

Diekerhof is located in the west of the Halveraner city area near the city limits to Radevormwald . The neighboring towns are Hakenberg , Stieneichhofen , Bärendahl , Schüreichenhofen , Nordeln and Grafweg .

The place can be reached via a set of secondary roads, which branches off the federal road 229 at Schwenke and connects other neighboring villages. The brook Waldschlenke , a tributary of the brook Hartmecke, flows past the place. The brook rises southwest of Hakenberg at the 399 meter high Frerberg elevation.

history

Diekerhof was first mentioned in a document in 1410 as zum Diecke , but the origin of the settlement is presumed to be between 1050 and 1200 as a result of the clearing phase after the high medieval territorial formation. The Diekerhof was an estate of Stieneichhofen.

In 1818 five residents lived in the village. In 1838 Diekerhof belonged to the Eickhöfer peasantry within the Halver mayor . The place categorized as Kotten according to the place and distance table of the government district Arnsberg had a house at that time. At that time, eleven residents lived in the village, all of whom were Protestant.

The municipality encyclopedia for the province of Westphalia from 1887 gives a number of 16 residents who lived in two houses. The place is called Dickerhoff there.

At the latest since the early Middle Ages (according to other sources since prehistoric times) an important old road from Wipperfürth to Breckerfeld ran past Diekerhof . To the north of the village there is a ring wall on the Bollberg , which, according to excavations (ceramic finds from the 9th century) and recent research, is interpreted as a Franconian expansion and refuge castle to secure this old road.

To the west of Diekerhof , iron ore was mined in mines , the Annaglück and Idaglück collieries , until 1936 . Until 2002, the Bundeswehr's Wuppertal ammunition defeat was located there on the city limits of Radevormwald .
