Kahlenberg is a court of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

Kahlenberg is in the northeast of Wipperfürth on the city limits to Halver . Neighboring towns are Schwelmersiepen , Auf der Bever , Hohenplanken , Stöcken and Hohenbüchen . The Böckersiepen and Schwelmersiepen have their source near the Hofschaft and flow into the Bever at Schwelmersiepen .

The Hofschaft can be reached from the Halveran city area via the K13 district road.

history

In the map of the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1825, a Kahlenberg court is named "Kaltenberg". It was not until the Prussian first recording from 1840 to 1843 that the place was named Kahlenberg.

The K13 district road, which passes Kahlenberg in just under 200 m, had its origins in prehistoric times (Neolithic Age), even if only as a “trampling path and ancient path”. In the Saxon-Franconian period from the 7th century onwards, it gained importance in long-distance traffic, which was only reduced to regional importance in the 18th century.
