Hof is a village in the municipality of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The place is located in the southwest of the city of Wipperfürth in the valley of a backwater of the Ahe stream . Neighboring towns are Heid , Langensiefen and Ahe .

The place belongs to the electoral district 150 and thus to the district of Thier.

history

In 1487 the place was first mentioned under the name "Hoeve" in loan lists for Wilhelm III. called by Berg . The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows a single farmstead and designates it with “z. Hof " . The topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1825 shows six separate floor plans on a delimited courtyard under the name “courtyard” . In the Prussian first recording from 1840 the place name is "Hofe" . From the topographic map of the years 1894 to 1896, the place name Hof is used today.
